We all need a few life hacks
If you’re looking for TV shows to watch while you relax at home or wherever this summer, here’s a countdown of the best shows that will keep you entertained and hooked till the very last episode.
Caution: After #1-3 the list may become very girly.
1. F.R.I.E.N.D.S (Duhh)
This is only the best TV show to be ever created. You can watch FRIENDS over and over again and still laugh at the same jokes. You’ll love them, you’ll envy them, and best of all you’ll relate to them. I’d like to make a special mention of the beautiful last season because it made me laugh and cry at the same time. It’s a very weird feeling I swear but trust me it makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
2. Game of Thrones
It’s based on a series of books so if you have the time you can try reading those (I haven’t yet but it’s on my list). The show is…in one word: “Pretty cool and awesome in a way that makes your mouth drop open”. It took me a couple of episodes to get the entire storyline which takes some incredibly amazing turns especially in the third season. But overall the show has it all: dragons, magic, fantasy, love, action and also some super cute wolves that you’ll fall in love with in a matter of minutes. On the downside it takes a whole year for a new season of this show to come out so in the meanwhile you can watch something like Spartacus if you want something similar.
3. Modern Family
A.K.A best show ever after FRIENDS. I was surprised to know that very few of my friends actually knew about/watched this show. It’s super entertaining and really funny. Plus on a few occasions it has also made me tear up a little bit. This is also the kind of show where you find a little bit of yourself in every character.
4. Big Bang Theory
The characters are incredible and each makes you crack up with laughter in their own special way. Spoiler alert: you will fall in love with Sheldon and Raj!
5. Grey’s Anatomy
Get ready to cry a lot! But the storyline is beautiful. By the latest season you will get so attached to the characters that you will laugh and cry with them. The hospital drama keeps you on the edge of your seat and the constantly changing relationship dynamics keep you hooked. The show is maintains your interest with a new medical mystery in almost every episode. This show is a must watch!
Over the years I ended up liking this show a little better than Gossip Girl. The plot is very fast paced and the writers keep introducing new characters to keep you hooked and excited. Over the seasons you see the characters mature and struggle with issues you won’t exactly face in real life (until you’re a high school student who owns her own mansion or are super skinny and filthy rich or your zip code’s 90210 or all of the above) but its interesting to watch nonetheless if you’re a fan of teen shows.
The day I discovered this show I watched the first two seasons on the same night. Yes I kid you not. It is very light hearted, entertaining and brings you a very different storyline as compared to typical teen shows.
Shows I don’t want to include in this post (and why):
1. Gossip Girl
Yes I did love Blair and Serena back in 2010 when I first got hooked to the show but the show soon got very annoying. I blame the gorgeous dresses, the limousines and the fact that every one was richer than freaking Donald Trump. And also because in real life people don’t just marry royalty (yes yes I’m aware of the Prince William-Kate story) and then decide to marry their messed up ex who happens to own a hotel but can’t marry you because he’s too busy with something about a dead father who turns out to be actually alive and in hiding and a missing mother and just too much sabotage and limousine sex!
2. Vampire Diaries:
Some of my friends still love this show especially because of the recent Delena craze but to tell you the truth I’m a little over vampires. So I don’t quite enjoy vampire/werewolves themed shows as much as I did when I was younger.
I loved this show for six seasons (still a die hard fan of Dean Winchester and his little Eye of the Tiger number). But around season 7 I lost interest as I soon grew weary of the entire ghost busting and saving the world theme. Another show Grimm is quite similar if you like this theme and want more of it.
Shows I have not yet watched (but are great):
The following are the shows my friends have been forcing me to watch so once I get around it I’ll let you guys know how they were.
2. Downton Abbey
I have classified some really good shows that I’ve been watching in the past under categories so that you can easily get what you may be looking for.
